It is called “Daybreak” because I wanted it to embody the same qualities and feelings as Maude’s portrait does — hope, new beginnings, and resilience. For the longest time, I was going to call it “Dawn,” but then it “dawned” (lol) on me that the painting is less like night slowly creeping into day, and more like the morning sun bursting forth in newness and light.
I hope that this painting brings that sense of light and joy into your home, and reminds you that better days always come. I am honoured that you have chosen to follow along with me and support my work. Thank you.
